What Do Women Really Want In A Relationship

By Donna Campbell

What really want in a relationship is often much different than what they think they want. Often, once you have successfully found a woman that is interested in you and you're interested in her and your relationship progresses, things begin to change. These changes are not always for the better and problems occur when a woman's hopes, dreams and what she actually wants in a relationship go unfulfilled. So, how do we unravel the code and give a woman what she wants or needs so the relationship is pleasant and it progresses in a pleasant fashion?

Always keep in mind that what a woman says she wants or needs might not always be what she actually means. For instance, most women will say that they want a guy that is nice to them and who loves them with all his heart. For a woman, this might mean one thing and for a guy this often means something completely different. Often a woman will lose respect for a guy that is too nice, too accomodating and who does everything possible to show a woman that he loves her.

It's natural to be a little anxious about getting your girlfriend back. It's natural to get upset, nervous, suspicious and jealous. It's natural to doubt that she'll ever give you that second chance but the fact is that these emotions can cause us to do drastic things that can kill our chances of winning back the woman that we love. Our impatient nature can cause us to do stupid things that actually make matters worse rather than better.

Women base all of their decisions upon emotions. Their intuition or emotional feeling about something is what drives the decision making process. Men tend to be more analytical and they are ruled predominately by their mind. Women are ruled by their heart or feelings. For a woman to say that she's in love, she needs to feel certain emotions. A woman craves these romantic feelings and this is why so many women like to read romance novels or watch romantic movies.

When that doesn't work, you may have tried some variations of this technique. You tried being super nice to her or you bought her gifts. You may have even told her that you had bought these gifts before you broke up but you wanted her to have these things. You may have even begged or cried and pleaded with her to have mercy upon your soul and asked her to give you another chance. You told her that you loved her and that she was the most important person in your life.

Every woman might say that she needs romance but what does that mean? Romance can be something as simple as a kiss on the cheek and a thank you for cooking dinner all the way up to a trip to Paris as a surprise. Romance can be sitting on the back porch together talking about memories that you share and laughing together. Romance doesn't have to be expensive. It requires you to be thoughful though.

Most women will admit that they want affection also. Affection doesn't always mean a roll in the hay. It can sometimes be something as profound and daring as holding her hand in front of your buddies or holding her hand in the car. Affection doesn't always have to lead to the bedroom. True affection can sometimes mean forgetting about all of that and cuddling up with her on the couch as you watch a movie that she likes. Sometimes a woman just wants to be held by her man. Again, affection in moderation and balance is what most women look for.

If there's anything that you can learn about what a woman wants it's that all women are different and your girlfriend or wife will let you know what makes her happy. Sometimes she'll tell you out of frustration or just because she finds something that you do so attractive that she can't stand it. For your girlfriend or wife it might be something as simple as seeing you play with a child that makes her love you. It might be that she likes to see you fix things around the house. For every woman there is nothing more attractive than seeing the man that she loves do something well. Think about it and you'll have the key to gaining respect and true affection from your wife or girlfriend.
