First, gather all the materials you will need. This is vital for a continuous creation later on. You will need a can, paint brush, pen or marker, a bike mount, koozie and art materials of your choice. It is also better if you prepare a drill. You will be using this for later attachements.

After gathering everything, you are now ready to start. Get the empty can and clean it. If it is a can from a canned goods, then you should make sure that the inside portion is well cleaned. Remove the labels. Wash it with detergent if you need to. This will help remove the smell.

Next step will involve the bike mount, its screws, marker and the drill. Find an area of the can where you wish the mount to be attached. A word of advice, place it somewhere but the seam of the can. This is usually the weakes spot. Mark the selected area with a marker and drill a hole in it right after. Attach the mount.

Now that you have the basic structure of your cup holder, it is time to level up and add the necessary personalization. But before that, get the koozie and place it inside the can. This serves as insulation and will serve as protection for your can from direct liquid contact with your drinks.

Next, gather all your materials like thick colored papers, cloth and paint. You may choose to cover the can with any of these materials. For instance, you can paint the whole can red and then cut small circular shapes of thick colored papers. Attach these to the cans to achieve a polka dot like appearance.

Take note that this is just a sample. Design however you want your holder to look like. The most important consideration here is the appearance of your bike. The holder should blend well with the color and size of your unit. At the same time, it should be appealing to the eyes. Be careful with the balance of details. Too much can already be distracting.

If for instance you want to have some graphics or visuals attached on the design, then be it. There are shops in the city and the malls that offer customized printing services. You can hand in your design and they will give you some options. Do not forget to inform them though what the design is for. This will help them get the appropriate size for the print.
