Discovering A Christian Meditation Webinar

By Brian Williams

While most churches believe in prayers, there are fewer which believe in a meditative process. While this is the case, Biblical Christian Meditation Institute is working to make the practice more accepted in the Christian faith. Birthed out of the God as Christian Ministry, the goal is to make a bigger impact on churches in the 21st century. In the process, the hope is that more individuals will grow closer to God. One way in which the church is attempting to do is through a Christian Meditation Webinar.

In fact, BCMI is working hard to rebirth and renew the practice. For, it is believed the practice which took place in the early church has been neglected for too long. Part and parcel to this goal, the institute is working hard to provide more seminars and webinars related to meditation. Programs, which the institute hopes will help inspire other churches based in the Christian faith to follow suit.

Churches whom do accept and welcome these practices often believe it is important to the growth and development of the Human Spirit. As with other forms, it is believed when the inner-self can be calmed and stilled, only then can the individual recognize and commune with the spirit of God. For, in this state, ongoing brainwaves and problems of the day are put aside, thus allowing the individual to truly be in the present moment.

Studies show that only a small percentage of Christians truly know how to be in the presence of God through a meditative process. As such, only a small percent are actually using the power provided to access the presence of God. While this is the case, those whom can connect with God in this manner often have calmer, stress-free lives.

While there are several forms and styles of meditation, some are easier to understand than others. When it comes to Christians, the concept comes directly from a Bible verse in which God commanded Joshua to dwell upon the word of the Lord. As such, once having put other thoughts aside, Christians often focus on God, Christ, the Holy Spirit or scriptures as a focus of attention.

Founder and Senior Pastor Dr. George D. Hamilton at BCMI is now creating a revival of sorts when it comes to meditative practices being accepted in the church. The purpose of the revival is to train individuals how to meditate in a way than is in line with the gospel while quieting the minds and spirits of congregants. After which, individuals often find it easier to give thanks and communicate with God on a daily basis.

The pastor is also an author, teacher and holds several advanced degrees. These include, a Bachelor's of Arts and a Honorary Doctorate from Allen University in South Carolina. Dr. Hamilton also holds a Doctorate degree in Philosophy, and a Doctorate and Master's of Theology from the Gulf Coast Theological Seminary in Panama Beach, Florida. As a result, the pastor provides a great deal of services to the community and all those involved in the church.

As the Chancellor at Rhema Bible College, Dr. Hamilton oversees all aspects of the college. The reverend is also Chief Operating Officer at Success Living Learning Institute, where ongoing duties include teaching several classes on-campus and online. Whether attending a class in person, or online, most students report having found a great deal of joy and enlightenment in the process.
