But in my opinion, your wife will simply just agree with her mom's idea.
Asian wife will usually go along with her parent's wish. As you may have heard about it, most Asian wives are more likely to just follow her parent's advice. It's not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion. I understand it's not very common in the western culture. But remember, you are married to an Asian family. You need to know how to get used to their culture.
Your children are good looking? If you are in Asia right now, maybe you have heard about things from your friends or your wife's relatives say: your children must be good looking! Ha, that's not a bad thing to get started right?
Language Learning: Ask your wife opinion about it. If your Asian wife was not born and raised in the west, then you and your wife probably speak two languages at home. So which language should you teach your kid first? Should you teach them English or let your wife to teach them? In fact, maybe it's a good idea to get your child to be educated in a bi-lingual environment. Then you child will get much more advantage for the language ability then other kids in Asia
Deal with the culture difference with your Asian wife. Obviously you and your wife are coming from a very different cultural background. This will greatly influence your children if you do not handle it correctly. Something is OK in China might not be all right in the west. Make sure you and your Asian woman are on the same page when it comes to parenting.
Make sure you and your wife on the same page for discipline In my opinion, most women in Asia do not seem to fit to discipline children. They will simply allow them to do anything and buy everything the children want.
You don't want to show lots of disagreement in front of your kids. So make sure you are on the same page in advance for some issues.
