A List Of Spiritual Truths Shared By All Religions

By Brenda Fox

All societies or communities have an aspect of spirituality. However, there are differences that can be used to distinguish these religious groupings. Even with the differences, one can trace common spiritual truths shared by all religions. The principles make one to conclude that God and religion are universal. It is their perception by different communities that differs.

The existence of God the creator is common among all religious communities. There are different stories of origin but they all point at a God who created humanity and gave him dominion over everything on earth. Based on where a community comes from, there are differences in what God left His people. Some were given land, animals, oceans, and such other features around them.

It is a command from God that people must love one another. In fact, the assertion is that they were created to care for each other and the environment. From this love and care, most communities draw the lesson on morality. From this principle, you should not hurt others, kill or perform acts that would be regarded as detrimental to humanity. Preserve the lives and property of other people.

Religious groupings do not condone evil. In fact, it will be punished through a lot of pain. Such evil include killing innocent people, lying, damaging property and other hurtful acts. In most cases, it is said that the hurt you inflict on other people will return to you. This is why people are required to act with compassion.

Everyone should live a hopeful life. The struggles of everyday life are likely to cause many people of lose the hope. This is unacceptable. Through religious activities, one can maintain hope and soldier on in life. Some of the activities that will keep your hope alive include prayer and participation in community activities. The fact that you have lost hope means that your faith is weak. You need to trust God for that hope to remain.

As human beings, we grow through struggle. This is to mean that we must constantly work on our body and spirits to make them strong. It is the struggles of daily life that will keep you strong. Once you overcome the small incidences you encounter in life, you can face the bigger ones. If you give up when faced by the challenges, the bigger challenges will bring you down. Every religion has different mechanisms of strengthening the faith of people around them.

After life is completed on earth, human being will ascend to heaven to meet their maker. This heaven is different for each religious community. However, the common element is that only those who lived by the principles set will get to heaven. The reverse side of heaven is hell where the evil will be punished. The consequence of your actions on earth will either take you to heaven for enjoyment or hell for pain and punishment.

There are different names and understanding of principles that are shared by all religions. For instance, God may be referred by different names. The perception of family may also be different, though they agree that it is good to have a family. From these principles, it is valid to conclude that the root of humanity is one.
