Make Your Anniversary Invites Appealing

By Jody Leach

Any event can be a reason to celebrate such as a birthday, wedding, etc. In certain situations, you have the need to create and send out anniversary invites to everyone you'd like to invite to your party. You can make your invites in a variety of different shapes, sizes, formats, and materials; all depending on your preference and event.

The theme of the anniversary should be a major factor in determining how the invites look like as they give an idea to the people invited, what they should dress in and what to expect in the celebration. The theme may range from traditional, modern or to a blend of both traditional and modern themes. The theme may also be a classic from any of the eras and depends entirely on what the people celebrating.

The type of anniversary in question should also be a major part of the decision on what the invitation cards should look like. Wedding anniversary, religious life, appointments and even death anniversaries can be celebrated. There will be differences in invites for all of them for various reasons including the fact that they are celebrating or remembering different events in life. A death remembrance will most likely have a sombre mood as opposed to a wedding celebration that will be cheerful and colourful.

The length of time it has been since the occurrence of the events. People use different colours for different lengths of time. Gold is used for fifty years while silver is used for 25 years. Some people even have colour schemes for every decade and this may differ across cultures. The appropriate colour theme should be pre-empted by the invitation cards and therefore giving an idea to the invitees on how many years they are commemorating.

The size of the card is dependent on the details to be included. The essential details like the event being celebrated, the people celebrating, the event venue and the directions to the venue cannot be left out. However details like the site map can be added if some of the invitees are not conversant with the area. This will prevent uncalled for waste of time while locating the venue or looking for people who are lost. The person in charge should also be named just in case the invitees require confirming some details or cancelling their attendance for various reasons.

Make sure your cards are aesthetically pleasing, with well-formatted and concise text to avoid clutter. Your actual message should be courteous so that your guests will feel encouraged to attend. You might want to include requests if you want them to contribute in some way as well.

There are people who wish to make their anniversary celebrations charitable. If you are one of these people, you can transform the party into a fundraiser for a certain cause. However, if you do take this route, you'll need to make your intentions obvious in your invites. It's important that you notify your guests of the activities that will take place.

Anniversary invitations need to pass along a message and the message need to be clear enough to the invitee. Other decorative things are for aesthetic value. They also help to emphasize the message contained therein.
