The Shocking Truth About Walking Away

By Evan Sanders

We have all been there.

We've been in a situation where our love is being abused, we feel horrible about ourselves and we know we should walk away from the person who is taking complete advantage of us but are finding it very hard to.

Everyone has been there. For our own sake, we have to respect ourselves to walk from bad situations where we are being used and move on.

There's an art to leaving people who have shown you disrespect and don't want to do anything to fix it.

On one hand you want to be close with as many potential people as you can and you reach out making an attempt to meets new friends. On the other hand you have this respect for yourself and pride in how you act.

This can be very difficult to do however.

What's the indicator you need to take care of yourself and walk away from something?

Your heart. If you feel deeply in your heart that you have given everything that you have to offer, given the person across from you chance after chance and they still aren't willing to give back to you, walk away. Walk away as fast as you can because that person is going to continue to take advantage of you for as long as you are around.

However, when you start to learn really what you are worth, you find it easier and easier to walk away from people who don't love you and respect you.

This process isn't the easiest thing in the world but it is something you have to learn.

But what hurts more is staying in something and losing all sense of yourself and knowing you could have saved yourself months or even years earlier.

So have the courage to walk away.

The only thing to keep in mind here is that people often come back after you have walked away from them because they start to see just how much you are worth. The second art form is understanding when to give second chances and when to continue moving on with your life.

However, always know what you are worth and be willing to stand your ground.

If you want to live a truly brilliant life, you have to devote yourself to never settling. Never settle for "good enough" because eventually that will turn into mediocrity. Instead, aim as high as you can because even though you will never achieve perfection, you will hit something called "excellence."

Never settle for a mediocre life. It's time to level up.
