Why Womens Ministry Is Important

By Amy Mitchell

Every stage in life comes with its own peculiarities and challenges. Sometimes, there is need for people who have been in your shoes and can tell exactly how it hurts to step into your situation for help. With their experiences, they can teach you to come out strong and become a better person. This is what the womens ministry in Greenwood, MS wants to accomplish in the lives of spinsters, widows, widowers, bachelors, infants, orphans and new wives. Members of this ministry do the needful in order to put smiles on the faces of those who are worried.

Women advise the youths on the kind of life they should live. They are advised to abstain from immorality and they are encouraged to do the right thing at all times. They ensure that the youths are growing up the right way and they share their own experiences with them if it is necessary for them to remain on the right track.

Fathers find it easier to manage their homes with the activities of the women group in their areas. They help to ease the burden of constantly providing for the needs of the family by training themselves on some home management skills such as tailoring and home decoration where they learn things such as how to produce soap and bake bread for the family.

The women consider it their priority to cater for the needs of those who have been bereaved. They visit the widowers with the aim of helping them out to ameliorate the painful loss. In the past, some groups have visited the bereaved men to do some cooking and childcare. If a mother passed on during child birth, they help in bringing up the child the same way the mother would have done it.

Children also benefit from their ministries in no small measure. From time to time, some of them are given scholarships, loans, grants and bursaries for their education. As for those who may not be able to get these financial benefits, the ministries organize prayers, assembly and trainings to help children surmount their difficulties.

The right thing for spinsters to do when they face the challenges of getting married is to consult the older ones who have been in their position. This is why the ministry is always concerned with helping unmarried ladies throughout their courtship before they wed. In the seminars they organize, they give ladies insights on what they can do to remain attractive to their men. They proffer answers to questions that boys and girls ask in relationship.

The women do not end their leadership roles after the spinsters get married. Instead, they go all the way to make sure they live in peace with their spouses by teaching them how to love and respect them. The young girls learn how to use the sewing machines, bake cakes and perform many more home chores to keep the family together.

The group also has the welfare of its members at heart. As they help other people recover from tragedy and improve their lives, they also think of ways to help themselves. They do this by organizing in-house trainings, forming a savings bank and sponsoring their children and husbands.
