3 Tuition Assistance Programs for Military Spouses

By Ernie Young

Army Spouses make great sacrifices to be a better half and support our soldiers. Because of that, the military has established programs to try to help reduce the burden. Tuition Help programs are available for army spouses to continue their schooling without all of the financial stresses that come with paying for it. This post is intended to share some of the opportunities available to us.

Although every programme is not the same as one another nonetheless they have similar goals. The intended goal is to provide each spouse member with business help in order that they can have good opportunities for career through education.

If you are a Military Partner or connected with one, this post is for you:

Fiscal support for Sea and Navy Corps spouses program:STAP the Navy's Better half Teaching Aid Program offers both Maine and Navy spouses who are living abroad with their military member they are granted with the facility i.e. Up to 50% of discount on the tutoring for education programs. Additionally, it has got a limit of 300 greenbacks per term plus doesn't surpass 1500 dollars per year. There is no need to attend classes for full day.

Navy Sea Corps Relief Society Administered covers full graduate program at high per term rate/per-year at the maximum.

The Air Force has their copy of Navy's Spouse Tutoring Help Programme. While alike to the Marine/Navy programme, because it has a limit of $1500 per academic year. It has got a dissimilar twist. Its primary objective is to provide partial tutoring help through granting up to 50 percentages of the charges for tuition.

Military Tuition Help program:

As the Army has 2 spouse's assistance program for tuition. Where one is for the spouse's member who is stationed abroad and another one for those in the state. It completely depends on your need, the Overseas Partner Education Assistance Program (OSEAP) backed education should be finished while the better half is living abroad with her or his military member. Overseas Better half Education Assistance Program always gives half of the teaching fee i.e. Up to $540 per term or $2700 every year.

The Stateside Better half Education Assistance Programme (SEAP) is just like OSEAP programme as it also depends upon your need. The dissimilarity, however, is that it is available only to the spouses who are:

1. Soldiers who died on duty.

2. Retired squaddies.

3. Active duty personnel stationed stateside.

4. Retired squaddies who've died.

Both programs are administered by AER (Armed forces Emergency Relief) plus cover vocational training programs or undergraduate. Army Emergency Relief has consolidated the SEAP and OSEAP starting with the 2012-2013 college year. You can read more about the consolidation here.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) :This programme is funded by the Dep. of Defense (DoD), and offers schooling assistance for a military partner following a career - often in education, business administration & health services, since these jobs are usually found at just about each military base. Active duty spouses could apply for an award $3,000 for 2 year of school.

My main purpose for sharing this info is this: the military is changing. Budget cuts and reductions are coming. This is Not a frighten method. When budgets start getting reduced, the first things to go are programs like these. Don't sleep on this thinking that 'it will continue to be there'.
