Wedding Speeches: Why are You So Nervous?

Everyone should be happy at a wedding reception.With the new marriage, the celebration is underway and people are very happy.There is plenty of good times and happiness flowing through the room.There is also plenty of great food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

However, you are not too happy at all.Could it be that you are nervous about giving your wedding speech?Remember, you should be celebrating also.Besides, you and the bride have been best friend since preschool.She has always been a wonderful friend.You are happy for her and her new husband, but you are a bundle of nerves because of this speech.

The funny thing is that the two of you were just in the wedding photo booth taking a picture together.A photo booth always seems to bring out the kid in everyone.Everyone who goes into the booth always comes out in a happier mood.However, you are just one great big bundle of nerves.

Does this sound familiar to you?If you are not accustomed to speaking in pubic, then the thought of making a wedding speech is probably a very intimidating task.You are probably no different from others who have a fear of speaking in front of large groups of people.Many people suffer from public speaking.This is a very common phobia among most people.However, the next time that you have to give a wedding speech, maybe the following tips can help you to calm your nerves and enjoy the celebration.

First, understand that no wants to see you fail.Remember that the audience is there for the same reason that you are.This is a happy event for everyone involved.If you mess up, they will understand.Besides, there is so much flowing champagne that they probably won't even notice if you make a mistake. And if they do notice, they will not think any less of you.

Second, practice some of your speech.But, you do not want to memorize it.This makes a lot of sense in the long run.You do not want a scripted sounding speech.Also, you don't want to choke if you forget where you are supposed to be in your speech.Just jot down some things that you want to discuss with the audience.

Third, consider telling everyone something funny.The bride and you have most likely done numerous stupid things together.The crowd will love and appreciate that you are willing to share this cherished moment.It will also break the ice and make it easier to talk to the crowd once you get them to laugh out loud.

In conclusion, many people hate to speak in front of big crowds.But, remember that this is a joyous event. The bride and groom wanted you to share this time with them.Don' be afraid.Celebrate this wonderful event and have plenty of fun.
