The Process Of Seeking Christian Prophetic Guidance

By Harriet Porter

Many times Christians do not know what to do in their walk of faith with God. For this reason they have to seek Christian prophetic guidance. A believer does not have to own the prophecy gift to talk to the Creator. He or she also does not have to be supernatural, just human who walks in upright ways.

There are many believers who get to have prophecies because it is in alignment with Gods purpose for humanity. Prophetic guidance helps believers see the intention and purpose of God into their lives. After revelation of a prophecy we are then able to carry themselves in accordance to them. This is a way to strengthen faith.

Everyone who is a believer should be able to hear from the Almighty. This happens when the relationship with God is strong and upright through prayers. When you have made your relationship with Him perfect then you are in line to get prophetic guidance. This relationship and connection should be present and strong at all times.

Prophecy is not really about foretelling about future events before they happen. It is about making known the heart of God the Almighty to his people and to remind them of His will and purpose for their lives. A prophet is not only to serve individuals but the church as a whole. Prophecy does not come alone it should always confirm the message of the Holy Spirit.

When prophecy is revealed it is not alone, its preceded by the same message from the Helper. The Helper is the Holy Spirit and the gift from Christ he had promised on his day of ascension to Heaven. The helper helps Christians walk upright in God. This is in the scriptures that people who walk with the Spirit are never confused about what to do as He guides them through anointing to tell right from wrong.

The apostles as well as Christ himself told Christians to be careful about the false prophets. False prophets speak their own message. To differentiate their message from the right message we have to have the Holy Spirit. If you hear a message from a prophet that you have not heard before from the Spirit then you need to careful about it. The prophets only confirm what the Spirit is saying.

It is unbiblical to turn to prophets for answers. This is because everyone who knows Christ and follows his word has the Holy Spirit who guides them in hearing the word of God Himself. There is no individual in the pastoral world that is meant to replace the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian. Besides, the word of God is perfect and complete and Christians can rely on it for guidance. This does not mean God cannot use someone else to speak to you.

Remember to be cautious of your actions under prophetic guidance as it should be reflected in them. In addition, you should you use them to spread the Gospel further through your lifestyle. The challenge is to be holy as Christ is and use His gifts to teach others be like him. The bible should always be the reference for every step you make in your life always after a prayer that is made in faith.
