By Gregory Myers

These days, there are so many reasons as to why people are struggling with health issues. Whether this is physical or mental. Reasons can range from social media to crime and much more. The sad part about this all is that it strongly affects the youth, and as students, their main priority should be education. So it's clear why the need for applied positive psychology is dire.

If you are someone that is trying to deal with anxiety and struggling to find a way to pass it, you may want follow a few simple steps. Firstly, it is important to watch what you eat. The stuff that one consumes has immediate and sometimes severe effects on your body. If you have something that your body rejects, you can quite sick or you can become unhealthy and not even know it. When you change this habit, you will start to feel better and this will also improve your mental state.

Social media is the biggest attraction and these days, if you don't have it, it is easy to look down on you. The internet allows for many access points and for students specifically, you can study and also keep in touch with everyone at the same time. The downfall to this is that when you spend too much time on it, you can easily become zombie-like and depending on what you see online, you can easily start to feel a sense of depression.

Sometimes when you are feeling like you are going to have a panic attack because of something that you need to do or say, it is recommended to just blurt it out. It is similar to writing a letter that relieves you from what you are feeling. And as in these cases, once it is done, you immediately feel a lot better and the weight is lifted.

A common activity that you will find among st those alike, is they tend to take a step back and just breathe. This is the moment when they basically telling their mind to relax and their body to ease up. The breathing helps this process and makes you feel calmer so that you can start over without the feeling of something taking over you. You can always try this and maybe even in a group with others.

As a last resort, you can always visit your GP to tell them what you are feeling and have them diagnose you. In this case, you will probably be given the name of a psychiatrist that you can see. From here, he or she will talk you through what you are feeling and you will eventually have to go onto medication.

Sometimes, it may feel as though it is an extreme case but it really isn't. It is important to follow the basic steps first and if they work, it means that you can control it. Try this before heading to the GP.

You need to open yourself to exploring other ways to try and combat it by yourself and only thereafter, if you find that nothing works, then you see a GP. Don't ever feel that you need to blame yourself for something that is not your fault. These conditions are unavoidable but what you do afterwards, is completely up to you.
