Information About How To Be Saved By Jesus

By Adele Madden

There is a salvation message associated with Christianity, that is one of the cornerstones of faith. However, some people do not know how to be saved by Jesus. The following are the fundamentals of this belief and how one can embrace it and obtain salvation from his or her sins and enjoy the promise of eternal life:

The first book of the Bible is Genesis, which tells about Adam and Eve, who lived a sinless life. This changed, unfortunately, when they willfully disobeyed their Heavenly Father and lost their immortal nature, becoming mortals with the ability to sin. However, Jesus, the son of God, was sent to Earth to atone for the world's sins by being crucified on the cross. This made the gift of salvation available to anyone who believes on Him.

According to the 3rd chapter of the New Testament book of Romans, everyone has sinned. This means that no one is fit in his or her natural state to share the glory of God. Later on, in the sixth chapter of the same book, it is explained that the punishment for sin is death. The latter refers to spiritual death that occurs after one's physical body dies, and his or her spirit descends to hell. However, shortly after that text, the Scriptures explain that one can be saved by Christ and obtain eternal life.

Salvation is a gift that is available to every person on Earth. The Lord does not favor one person over another, or give mercy to one and reject someone else. Rather, the gift of salvation is given to any person who believes. It is not obtained through upright living or good works, but through faith in what Jesus accomplished when he was crucified.

To be saved, which essentially means to convert to Christianity, a person must do two things. He or she must confess out loud that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he or she believes this is true. The person must also believe from his or her heart that God resurrected Jesus after his crucifixion. Therefore, it is a two-step process that involves making an audible confession, and believing the appropriate thing in one's heart.

Some individuals are confused about how to maintain their salvation once it has been acquired. The Bible teaches that the only thing that can take away one's salvation is if he or she chooses to reject eternal life and embrace his or her former lifestyle. This technically indicates that a person can refuse God, but God will never reject the person.

Almost everyone has committed sins after they were saved, but this does not negate one's salvation. In the Epistles of John it states that if a person admits that he or she has sinned, Jesus is just and faithful and will forgive that individual provided they repent.

Individuals who are interested in how to be saved by Jesus sometimes believe that it is necessary to go to a church or other formal environment to pray for their salvation. However, a person can embrace Christianity by following the aforementioned steps, regardless of where they are. The Heavenly Father hears his peoples' prayers under any circumstances and at all times.
