Affairs Of State; How They Are Managed In The US

All countries always strive to carefully and cautiously take care of their affairs, especially those touching on security and relating with other countries. Such affairs of state need to be kept away from the ears of ordinary citizens as much as it may be possible. This is usually done for the sake of protecting the citizens themselves. They should, therefore, not worry about being denied access to such information.

In America, office of Secretary of state handles such matters. He office holder deals every foreign issue; he serves as the central guide of the white house on foreign matters. He, at the same time, works on foreign policies designed by at the command of the president. The main foreign policies touch on foreign services, the agency committed to fostering international development and civil services. The office bearer achieves all these through the state department. John Kerry currently holds this office.

The office bearer talks on behalf of his country in tackling various key issues in most affairs of the world. In days the recent past, he has presented the opinions of his country on matters like the Syrian, Iranian, Somali and Russian wars. He has also addressed the same problems in many other countries. In addition to these, he continues to give what the US thinks about same sex marriages, FGM, global warming and the MDGs.

He is expected to make sure that there his country and its neighbors relate well. The good relationship is expected to extend to other nations that are not near the US. This relationship should be promoted through giving grants and repayable loans to less developed countries, assistance in getting solutions to problems in war-stricken countries. Military unity and many other elements of cooperation also enhance good relationships.

This office also looks at environmental, energy and economic matters. The most notable economic matters addressed by the secretary of state are climate change, food security, science and technology, trade policies and programs, small and disadvantaged business utilization.

The other department is concerned with control of arms and internal security. Under this category, officers work hard to counter internal terrorism, manage the use of arms, diplomatic security, trade controls, formulating anti-narcotic rules, political and military issues and many others. This section basically deals with anything that may want to spoil peace from within. Officers from this department also provide security for civilians. They also strive to protect democracy; they provide stability wherever there is a conflict, counter internal terrorists, provide criminal justice globally, fight human trafficking and many other pertinent issues.

Regarding public diplomacy, they handle communication related issues such as press briefings, releasing statements through the press, registering and updating events and giving international information and programs. In addition to these, they also address issues like history, culture, education and foreign relation matters among other functions assigned to them by the constitution. All these events and functions are driven toward bringing and nurturing peace and co-existence among people in this world.

The last type of events carried out in this sector is the development and assistance department. This department is charged with keeping every resource belonging to the American foreign assistance department. It is, at the same time, houses the office of world health diplomacy.
