Others who need to access the files of other people have to get authority and a special permit to be able to do so. Although the documents are open to the public, access to it is not for free. It would cost $.05 to $5, depending on the retrieval process, to proceed with the retrieval. Also, one has to know the basic information of the document that is being requested since it will be used during the retrieval process. One will also be required to provide their personal information. This will only be used to verify their identity.

Getting a copy of a marriage certificate can be done at the Ohio's Historical Society. Unfortunately, the office can only release documents which have been registered since 1949, otherwise, requests has to be done at the probation court at the county where the couple got married. Requesting for such documents can be also done via mail order but the results can be obtained after several days.

Marriage license search in the state of Ohio can be done through the Internet. The government of the state uses the development of the Internet to deliver information to its local residents. This means the records can be obtained faster and hassle free. This has eliminated the need to go to any office just to file the request since it can be done even at home and the results are obtained in just seconds.
