By Enid Hinton

When individuals think of an experienced television producer, often the name Mark Burnett is the first to come to mind. As a reality show producer, Mark has been involved with series ranging from Survivor to The Apprentice, with one of his most popular projects that of Big Brother. He must be a good one, after all most of the eleven series he has been a part of are still airing on television.

Producers for these type shows are in high demand, as are ideas for new shows. Without producers, shows would not exist in the first place, another reason it is one of the most important roles whether in movies, television or other programming. The producer and director often work closely together to compile various aspects of a show to come up with the best presentation possible.

Most all television crews include the director, actors, costumers, editors and camera crew. All of which are essential to a good reality show. One of the most important aspects keeping the audience from remembering there is a camera crew. After all, when deserted on a desert island, one is most often not going to be filmed.

Many believe one of the best shows produced is that of Big Brother. In this show, cameras are placed around the house so there is no need for a camera crew. The house guests merely communicate over a large screen television with Julie, the host of the show. Unlike some others, Big Brother stands alone in its ongoing popularity.

For those who enjoy this type television, there is a lot to choose from. In fact, there is now more reality programming than any other on regular television. From Dancing with the Stars to the Real Hillbillies and Honey Boo Boo, there are no shortage of reality shows. A reality which leads one to wonder why producers are still looking for new ideas in relation to this type programming, especially after Utopia was canceled almost as soon as it began.

Threads related to reality shows can be found on blogs and forums. Blogs provide a space for those involved to post updates. Whereas, forums provide a platform for discussion among fans and others whom are interested in a number of topics. There are also blogs and forums on a number of other subjects and topics. Before subscribing to either, it is often good to read a variety of reviews to discover whether the site is something that might be useful, or, more trouble than is worth.

Generally, there is no fee to join a blog or forum, if someone attempts to charge a fee, it should be reported to the blog or forum owner, or owners. Of course, if it is the owners attempting to charge the fee, it is no doubt one may be removed from the site. Although, most often it is others pretending to be a moderator trying to make a quick buck.

It is often up to the producer, and director as to what gets published. Whereas, the contestants and crew make up the bulk of filming the different aspects. All in all, it takes a village to create a television show like some believe it does to raise a child. A number of directors and producers consider shows one directs or produces, a baby in and of itself.
