What It Is Like To Be Part Of The Lutheran Church

By Kristen Baird

Strengthened with faith and molded with the Christian views, it truly feels great to be in the walk of Jesus. While a significant number of individuals are moved by His grace, several others think God as a plain myth to whom the weak finds strength in troubled times. Questions of His existence are ceaseless but what is there to ask if His love for humans has made manifest for a million times? Today, an increasing number of people are becoming less religious; worse, even becoming non-believers.

Christianity is the biggest religion so far and one of the oldest denominations therein is Protestantism. Being part of the biggest discipleship is something that brings genuine euphoria to people who have been ruled by Christian doctrines although some of the critical values of their religion have been subtly disregarded over the years especially by the new generation. Nonetheless, church leaders have been keen on reviving the lost values through implementing programs with which the Lutheran church Wilmington has been actively involved.

Lutheranism was started by the late Martin Luther, a friar in the Order of the Augustinian Recollects who later on referred to as the Father of the Reformation. The principles of Lutheranism are basically extracted from the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Baptism is a huge part of this religious movement which is why believing adults and infants are required to be baptized.

Meanwhile, for someone who wants to help draw the lost flock together while retaining the values taught by Jesus, it can be a wonderful idea to volunteer as a teacher to the Sunday school. This is pretty much easier than a regular school. Teachers need not prepare difficult quizzes for their students or get them to go to places where their lessons are best understood.

Catechism is never boring. Not only can this get students to be introduced to His divinity, they can make plenty of new friends in the church, too. And what will be more motivating than being open not only to spiritually and religion but also how to get life to become more exciting owing to the people around?

There must be plenty of churches out there that need more volunteers. The odd is, interested parties might be required to serve some extra hours if necessary. Volunteers, however, will be asked for their most preferred time before both parties agree about the volunteer job.

An initial background investigation during the application will be done but applicants do not have to worry about it. And if there is nothing to hide, then they should not be afraid. This, however, needs them to become members of the denomination. If not, that does not restrict them from being one, though.

Being a volunteer does not mean one has to be entirely tied up with all religious activities. It is important to know that volunteers are there to serve the community rather than the mendicants raise money for themselves or the group. Of course, they can if they want to.

There is a huge difference between volunteering to teach and to be on a mission. For those interested in the Sunday school, they do not need to be sent somewhere unless they ask for it. And besides, they cannot be anywhere without the approval of the entire ministry as well.
