A Comprehensive Spiritual Training Guide

According to experts, the way you appear outwards reflects the health of your spirit. Spiritual training helps to polish your spirit and provide the required energy boost to push you towards accomplishing your goals. There is greater peace of mind when your spirit is strong. This makes your interactions with people more productive and easier. What strategies can you use to train the heart and make it stronger?

Evaluate your current position. Take account of your journey in faith identifying areas which need improvement. Begin by understanding where you started and points at which you likely lost your way. Write down the issues or persons who contributed to your failure or brought you down. Be honest when conducting the review. Failure to be honest means that you will be engaging in an exercise in futility.

Identify the path you will pursue. The idea is to recognize milestones that are to be achieved over a set period of time, either a week, two weeks, a month, half year, a year, etc. The new path should involve returning to the original self and living by your principles. Work with an elder or spiritual leader towards drawing the new path in life.

Find the right people to move with to the next level. It is impossible to change if you stick with same people or those who do not understand your destiny. As such, find experienced leaders in spirituality. They should be learned and following a spirituality that is tested. Your company on daily or regular basis will also determine how well you adapt and stick to the new route.

Find relevant materials for spiritual growth. Your leader, teacher or mentor does not know everything. It is also impossible to contact or physically learn from the leaders you look up to in life. To tap into the resources of the other leaders, read their books, listen to their podcasts, watch videos they have recorded, etc.

You will definitely encounter challenges. Some of the things you will have planned will not materialize. Some expectations will not be met. Some people are easily discouraged by this. Keep your eyes on your goal other than getting distracted. There are areas where a lot of sacrifice will be required. Be ready to make this sacrifice. After all, change is never easy.

Work on your physical environment. Identify a place that is convenient and conducive for learning. It should have the least possible distractions and thus allow you to concentrate on learning new skills and habits. Be ready to change your place of residence if it is contributing to your spiritual weakness. Change refreshes the soul and makes it easier to absorb the new teachings.

Reset the goals on regular basis. The best goals are timed. When certain milestones are achieved, new goals should be set. The new goals should be higher and more challenging. They should push your spirit. Identify exercises that challenge your spirit. The exercises reveal the phases in your life where there are weaknesses. This gives you the areas to put more effort on regular basis. Take a step to improve your life today other than postpone.
