Dealing with Wedding Stress

By Lori Buenavista

The day of your wedding event is finally approaching! You've dreamt of this very day since you were just a little girl and you've put in 1 year preparing for this...the most important day of your life. You want almost everything to be flawless. Some ladies spend the last few days before their wedding ceremonies thinking over every last detail. By the day of the wedding ceremony, they're stressed out, depleted and moody. Listed below are 6 ways to keep your wedding event peaceful and stress free.

The Days Prior to the Wedding ceremony

Once you've carried out all the planning and made all the plans, you can delegate the ultimate confirmations to somebody else. The final thing you should be doing on the day before the wedding is getting in touch with the florist, caterer, minister, etc. Let your wedding consultant do this for you-if any little troubles appear, she can look after them.

Focus on another person.

You've invested the last few months focusing on yourself-your flower arrangements, your gown, the way you look, etc. You wish to look great for your day... but that puts plenty of pressure on you. Make your mind off the wedding for a few days and focus on others. Bring your nieces and nephews to the park and swing on the swings, spend time with your grandmother, or volunteer in your neighborhood.

Indulge in a spoiling day.

The day before the wedding ceremony, everyone's tensions are great. Bring your bridal party ladies out for a nice day of indulging: massages, manicures, pedicures and facials.

The Time of the Marriage Ceremony

Get rid of anticipations. Take a deep breath and let your entire expectations go. The truth is that sometimes, silly things come about. The flower arrangements are delayed, the wedding cake is the wrong flavor, the flower girl gets the stomach flu. Allow it all go-today is the moment you get to marry the guy you love. You would like to remember your wedding event as a day of love... not a moment when you spent thirty minutes yelling at the floral designer.

Employ a professional person do your hair and makeup.

If you've ever endured a bad hair day on a day whenever you wanted to look great, you are aware that today is a great day to have someone else fix your hair. Find a professional ahead of time and run through what you would like so there aren't any surprises. Then on your special day, settle into a chair, relax and let another person allow you to be gorgeous.

Have a minute to be on your own.

As you become dressed, everyone is fussing around you and anxiously getting themselves dressed and ready. Give yourself a few moments before the marriage ceremony to sit quietly on your own. Find a quiet spot, close your eyes and concentrate on inhaling and exhaling. Your heartbeat and blood pressure will greatly reduce and you'll feel much less stressed out. At this point you're prepared to say, "I Do!"
