Myths Related To The Weeping Statue Virgin Mary

By Matthew Hayes

Matters of faith are very sensitive to most people because of the different doctrines that govern different religions. For instance, a supernatural phenomenon happened recently at a Catholic church in Hobbs, New Mexico. A Weeping Statue Virgin Mary was discovered by some believers that made so many people amazed. Those who have never seen something like this started praying to the sculpting immediately. This molding attracted so many people as well as visitors from all over the world. Believers claim that this is an important miracle from God. The following are myths that have been attached to the crying molding.

Most people claim that the tears of the molding are olive and balsam oil. This mixture of oils is typically used by the Catholic bishop to carry out particular rituals in the church. Due to this, most believers continue to gather at the molding to pray for healing and blessings.

Over the centuries, so many other moldings have been found to shed tears. Thus, the molding in Hobbs was another one in the long list. In 1953 in a small town of Syracuse, the molding of Madonna that was made of plaster was found to be shedding tears. It still cries up to date. In Hungary, Macedonia, and Argentina, more moldings have been found to shed tears as well.

If you cannot appreciate the critical connection between the Virgin and miracles, there is no way you can understand why these moldings are crying. Catholic believers believe that this holy woman was the mother of Christ Jesus. Therefore, she is also the mother of God. This makes this woman very powerful and capable of performing many miraculous acts.

She is therefore very powerful and can perform so many miracles. For example, she is believed to have caused the victory of the Lepanto battle in 1951. Believers believe that her intercession made the battle to be successful. Thus, more believers continue to intercede through her. This is because they believe that she will make them emerge as victors in their battles.

Additionally, Catholics have a belief that the tears the holy woman shed are crucial in their faith. This is because the mother of God continues to cry because of the sins of the world and saints. Also, she weeps because of the hardships she went through during her life on earth. The crucifixion of her son, Jesus, is among her seven sorrows.

The scent of the tears, that is, balsam and olive oils, are used to depict her nature. She is usually referred to as a rose with no thorns. Therefore, believers depict her as a powerful woman. They have thus turned the molding to an object of intercession and prayer.

Usually, when believers discover that molding is crying, the local bishop is notified immediately. Then, the bishop appoints a committee that will investigate whether the tears are genuine or fake. The committee uses the Vatican doctrines standards to undertake their investigation to determine whether the tears are genuine or not.
