The Predictions Of Wars From The Book Of Daniel Prophecy

By Steven Carter

Daniel introduces some very interesting prophecies regarding future kings and leaders that waged big wars to conquer vast territories. In the last few chapters, the archangel Gabriel gave him these visions which he would write about in the book of Daniel Prophecy. To know more about these prophecies, check out the summary of events that happened.

Now, if one would read these chapters, then he or she would definitely draw some parallelisms with the other end times predictions found in the Bible. Of course, revelations would be the chapter has the most end times predictions and these chapters in Daniel somehow lead up to the beginning of end times. Most wars have already happened in history but some interpret the last war as the final bout before the restoration of modern day Israel.

First, chapter ten stated that a supernatural being is going to be in battle with the prince of Persia in the third year of Cyrus. This actually plays into history because Cyrus was the conqueror of Babylon. The vision given by the angel showcased war made by this Persian conqueror before it even happened.

Following that, the angel further showed predictions of more wars to come with the next one from the prince of Greece. This vision perfectly depicts the Macedonia Greece war that rose Alexander the Great into power. Again, the vision has shown the next big war to come that would be significant in the colonizing of the world.

After that, another war was discussed in the next verses which talks about the huge Roman empire that came to power sometime in sixty four BC. Also, the conquest of Pompey on Jerusalem that happened sometime in sixty three BC was also discussed. Finally, the fall and the death of the great Julius Caesar was discussed sometime at the last verses of chapter ten.

The final chapter has some versatility when it comes to interpretation as other researchers would interpret it as the birth and death of Christ. It could be interpreted as the death and resurrection of the Messiah. This shows that after the resurrection of Christ, there was a building of the New Kingdom with many trials before that.

On the other hand, Christian millennialism would interpret this chapter as the restoration of Israel in the present day. The end of chapter ten could also interpret the rise of the Antichrist in which he will be one of the big four princes mentioned in the previous chapters taking over the world. Of course, the Antichrist would also fall signifying that the Messiah will come back.

As one can see, this is definitely one very interesting chapter that can be found in the book of Daniel. What makes it extremely interesting though, is that the prophet was able to predict the coming of four great princes that would sweep the nations one after the other. All of those things did come true but what makes this chapter even more interesting is the coming of end times which Christians believe to be a time of challenges wherein the Messiah would come back for the believers.
